An Educational Book for All Ages
“Adonai Keeps His Promise: The King is Born” is a unique and visually exciting reading and learning adventure for children, teens and adults. Yes, for all ages, in the same book! The story is the birth of the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) in the context of fulfillment of Scripture showing the prophetic plan of the coming Messiah and how only Yeshua (Jesus) could be that Messiah … A wonderful story to read to children, it is also an excellent teaching vehicle for older children and adults, for Sunday school classes or small groups desiring to learn more about Scripture. A Lasting Treasure of Great Beauty
A triumph of art, storytelling and prophetic fulfillment, “The King is Born” is a tapestry that tells a story from both sides. The more you look at it the more you see woven into it. Capturing the heart, mind and soul, it is one of those rare books that become a lasting treasure. Mike Bayer, Pastor, Village Church of Laguna Woods, Laguna Woods, CA, Assembly of God
A Christmas Gift for All Ages
“The King is Born” presents not only the story of Jesus’s birth, but its meaning and significance. Readers see the Lord in His Jewish culture and context as the fulfillment of God’s ancient promises. Beautifully illustrated by Israeli artist Baruch Maayan, the book is suitable for all ages.” Dr. Christopher A. Davis, Dean of Online and Professional Studies, California Baptist University
The Best Children’s Gospel Story
“The King is Born” is simply the best children’s Gospel story available because it is the most true to Jesus’s actual cultural context. The book is beautifully illustrated and the storyline is wonderful. It is a children’s book from which every adult would benefit. Scott Schrader, Pastoral Staff, Vineyard Community Church, Laguna Niguel, CA
Israeli Culture Portrayed:
“Adonai Keeps His Promise: The King Is Born” is exhilarating. Its full-color illustrations accompany a fresh telling of the birth of the miracle baby from a Messianic Jewish perspective. Paired with Messianic prophecies, it is the story of the Birth of King Messiah, Jesus, seen afresh with the drama, immediacy, and poignancy that only Scripture offers. Wendy Cohen uses Hebrew names, such as Yeshua for Jesus and Miriam for Mary. Israeli artist Baruch Maayan's illustrations unforgettably place you in the moment of the miracle of Yeshua's birth. Bible Study
The teaching material, background, history and verses for further study and deeper insight … help the older reader understand and convey more Scriptural truths (similar to a study Bible) as the story content (for children) continues. It is an amazing concept and one that works extremely well. Sample Text for Youth:
“You will notice in this book that I have used Hebrew names for many people and places. So, Mary is Miriam, Joseph is Yosef, Elizabeth is Elisheva, John is Yochanan, Simon is Shimon, Anna is Hannah, Jesus is Yeshua, Jerusalem is Yerushalayim, Bethlehem is Beth Lechem, Israel is Yisrael and the Messiah is Mashiach. I have used Adonai, El, Elohim and Eloheinu for God and the Lord.”“Why did I do this? I think it gives you the flavor of how people spoke in those days. Calling them by their Hebrew names reminds us they lived in the land of Israel.”…
“If you paid very close attention you would have noticed that I am now writing on the back of the scroll. Although the Israelites never did that in the Torah, they did do it in other documents. In a vision to Ezekiel, Adonai did it too. (That’s in Ezekiel 2:10) When people had too much to say for only one side, they wrote on both sides. Here the story is on the front, and the comments are on the back. The comments show Adonai keeping His promises. Perhaps as you read through the story Adonai will reveal to you other promises He kept, promises we did not mention. If He does, let us know. Our email address is thekingisborn@gmail.com”
Sample Text for Children:
“A long, long time ago … about 2,000 years ago … there lived a beautiful, but very poor, young lady in the town of Nazareth. Her name was Miriam. She was engaged to a handsome man named Yosef. They were preparing to get married.”
