Placing
Biblical events within their proper cultural narratives, according to
hermeneutics, is essential for full understanding of the Gospel. When we see Biblical events within their proper
cultural background we can more fully understand their effect upon us
today. Otherwise, we can miss very
important Scriptural truths. To
communicate this to children, pictures and simple dialogue are used. For youth, much “meat” is added. Reading, writing, creative exercises, history
and social studies lessons are all used to reach the goal of “Understanding
Jesus within His Cultural Heritage.”
